UNI’Q
Much like her voice, with the precision of a tuning fork, Uni’Q makes clear what could never be made plain. The Chattanooga born, Memphis raised multidisciplinary artist is tethered to no genre, as she floats effortlessly between funk, soul, hip hop, and alternative spaces. From her look, to her sound, to the stories she so unabashedly tells, Uni’Q brandishes a raw truth that is bold, polarizing, and warm, still. She approaches her live performances with a grave playfulness, pushing the boundaries of what is acceptable for a Black woman in America today.
She has touched many of the major stages in her city, including the Overton Park Shell, the Fedex Forum, and Tom Lee Park for the inaugural River Beat Festival. And she’s worked with such Memphis Legends as David Porter and Boo Mitchell. Nowadays, she’s right at home at UNAPOLOGETIC, a label that celebrates her raw authenticity and experimental style.
Uni’Q is an artist. A woman. A mother. And she’s dead set on challenging everything you believe about those titles.
